Legal Information
This page contains the legal information that upnewsra publishes about itself as the operator of this website. It explains who you are contracting with, how the business is registered in the United Kingdom, where it is based, what you may and may not do on the site, how content may be used, the limits of our responsibility, and how to reach us. It also summarises the consumer, data protection and electronic communications rules that apply to the services offered here.
Last updated: 26 October 2026. This version replaces all earlier versions. Please read it in full before booking a course or relying on any information published on this website.
Identity of the Website Operator and Its Role
This website is owned, operated and made available by upnewsra. The operator is the commercial provider of specialist training courses focused on live production decks and control rooms. The training portfolio covers multi-camera switching, live broadcasting techniques, real-time video operation, and the professional management of television and streaming productions. Courses are delivered to individuals and to organisations that want their staff to work confidently and safely in live environments.
The operator is also the party with which you enter into a contract when you book a place on a course, purchase training materials, or otherwise order a paid service through this website. If a trading name, brand name or domain name used on this site differs from the registered company name, the registered company remains the contracting party and is responsible for the obligations set out in our Terms and Conditions. Where we work with associate trainers, guest instructors or venue partners, those parties act on our behalf or as independent suppliers, and this will be made clear in the booking information for the relevant course.
In short: upnewsra is the seller and training provider, the website is our shop window and booking channel, and the company behind the site is legally accountable for what is published here.
Legal Form, Registration Details, Tax Identifiers and Responsible Representatives
The operator is a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales. It is registered with Companies House, the United Kingdom registrar of companies, and with HM Revenue & Customs for tax purposes. The non-contact legal identifiers for the business are as follows.
- Company Registration Number: 02867466
- VAT Registration Number: GB 645 085 923
- Place of registration: England and Wales
- Legal form: private limited company
- Registrar: Companies House, United Kingdom
These details are published in line with the trading disclosure requirements of the Companies Act 2006, which require a company to state its registered name, company number, place of registration and registered office address in its business communications, including its website, order forms and emails. The same information appears on invoices, booking confirmations and course documentation. Failure to display it would expose the company to enforcement action, so we keep it visible and up to date.
The persons responsible for the management and legal representation of the company are its directors, whose names and service details are filed with Companies House and are available for public inspection there. Directors are the individuals authorised to act on behalf of the company, to approve these policies and to receive formal legal correspondence addressed to the business. Details of any company secretary, auditor or nominated data protection contact are likewise held on the public register where applicable.
Regarding licences: delivering professional training in live production, multi-camera switching and streaming management does not, by itself, require a specific sector licence in the United Kingdom, and we do not claim to hold one. The company maintains the ordinary registrations required to trade lawfully, to charge and account for VAT, and to employ or engage staff. Where a course involves use of third-party studio facilities, broadcast equipment or licensed music and footage, the relevant permissions are obtained from the venue or rights holder for the duration of the training. Nothing on this page should be read as conferring any broadcasting licence, accreditation or regulatory status on us or on course participants.
Registered Office, Contact Details and Business Hours
The registered office of the company is Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG. The registered office is the official address for legal notices and is recorded on the public register. Training is delivered at our training facilities, at partner studio venues and, where agreed in advance, at client premises; the address published here should not be assumed to be the venue for a specific course. Venue details are confirmed in the booking confirmation for each course.
You can reach us through the following channels:
- Email: [email protected]
- Telephone: 01494 671234
- Registered office and postal address: Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG
- Online contact route: the contact form on the Contacts page of this website
Our administrative opening hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00, and Saturday, 10:00 to 14:00, United Kingdom time. We are closed on Sundays and on public holidays in England and Wales. Messages sent through the contact form or by email are normally answered within two working days. For matters that must be notified formally under a contract, please follow the notice provisions in our Terms and Conditions rather than relying on a general enquiry.

Purpose, Scope and Intended Audience of This Website
This website exists to describe, promote and sell professional training in live production environments. Its content explains course content, learning outcomes, duration, format, price and booking process, and provides the practical information a prospective participant needs before enrolling. It is intended for media professionals, broadcast technicians, vision mixers and technical directors, production managers, live event crews, corporate communications teams, film and television students, and organisations that run their own studios, control rooms or streaming operations.
Content is written for an audience in the United Kingdom and, where relevant, for international participants who are willing and able to travel to our training venues. The website is a commercial site: it is not a consumer advice service, not a job board, not a professional accreditation body and not an emergency resource. Course descriptions are provided for information and do not constitute a guarantee of a particular job outcome, salary, certification or broadcast licence.
Where a course is delivered by a guest trainer or supported by equipment supplied by a manufacturer, the relevant product names are used descriptively to explain the training environment. Their appearance on this site does not imply any endorsement, sponsorship or affiliation unless that is expressly stated.

When you submit information through the contact form or a booking request, you are responsible for ensuring that the information is accurate, that you are entitled to provide it, and that it does not breach anyone else's rights. We may refuse or cancel a booking, restrict access to the site or take legal action where we reasonably believe there has been abuse, attempted fraud or a serious breach of these rules.

Ownership and Permitted Use of Website Content, Trademarks and Other Intellectual Property
Unless expressly stated otherwise, all intellectual property rights in this website and its content belong to upnewsra or are licensed to it. Protected material includes, without limitation: the text of course descriptions and legal pages, the layout and design of the site, graphics and diagrams of control room layouts and signal flows, photography and video of training sessions, course handbooks, slide decks, exercises and assessment materials, plus the underlying source code and the selection and arrangement of the content.
Company names, trading names, logos, product names and service marks used in connection with our training are the trademarks of their respective owners. Nothing on this website grants you a licence or right to use any trademark, logo or brand, and you may not use ours in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or affiliation without prior written consent. Third-party trademarks that appear in course materials are used only to describe the equipment or software being taught.
You may print, download and save individual pages for your own private and non-commercial reference, and you may quote short extracts provided the source is clearly acknowledged and the quotation is fair and proportionate. The following are not permitted without our written permission:
- copying, reproducing or republishing substantial parts of the site or of the training materials;
- distributing, selling, renting or sub-licensing course materials to third parties, including in internal training libraries;
- removing or altering copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices;
- creating adapted versions of the training content for commercial use, including competitor courses.
Course materials supplied to participants are licensed for the personal professional use of the named participant. Organisational bookings may request an internal use licence for a defined number of staff; this must be agreed in writing before the course begins.
Accuracy, Availability and Proportionate Limitations of Liability
Accuracy of information
We take reasonable care to ensure that course descriptions, schedules, prices, trainer biographies and technical information published on this website are accurate at the time of publication. Training content in this field evolves quickly as equipment, software and broadcasting standards change, and details such as software versions, equipment models, running times and session order may be adjusted. Where a material change affects a confirmed booking, we will notify affected participants using the contact details they supplied and offer an alternative date or a refund in line with our Payment and Refund Policy.
General information on this website is provided for orientation and does not constitute technical, legal, regulatory or career advice. It should not be relied upon as a substitute for the manufacturer's documentation, your employer's operating procedures, or professional advice tailored to your circumstances.
Availability of the website
We aim to keep this website available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. The site may be unavailable during maintenance, updates, network failures or events outside our reasonable control, including power outages, cyber-attacks and failures of hosting or communication providers.
Limits of our responsibility
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity or loss of goodwill arising from use of this website or from reliance on general information published on it, or for any loss caused by your failure to follow instructions, safety procedures or manufacturer guidance during or after training. Our total liability in connection with a course booking is limited to the amount paid for that booking, except where a different rule is required by law.
Nothing in this legal notice excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by section 49 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected: services must be performed with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time where no date is agreed, and for a reasonable price where none is fixed.
External Links and Third-Party Content
This website may point you to external websites, booking platforms, payment processors, map services, video hosting providers or equipment manufacturers' documentation. Those links are provided for convenience only. External sites are operated and controlled by third parties, and we have no control over their content, availability, security practices or privacy policies. A link does not mean that we endorse the site, its operator or its products, and we accept no responsibility for any loss arising from your use of a third-party site.
When you follow an external link, the terms, privacy notices and cookie policies of that third party apply. We encourage you to read them before providing personal data or making a payment. If you believe that content reached through this site infringes your rights, please contact us using the route below with enough detail for us to investigate.
Some pages may embed third-party media or analytics components. These are configured so that non-essential components load only after consent where consent is required, as explained in our Cookie Policy.
Data Protection, Cookies and Electronic Communications
Personal data collected through this website — for example, when you send a message through the contact form or book a course — is processed in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We process data lawfully, fairly and transparently, only for specified purposes such as responding to enquiries, administering bookings, taking payment, delivering training, keeping financial records and, where you have opted in, sending occasional course updates. We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for those purposes and for the retention periods required by tax and accounting rules, and we apply appropriate technical and organisational security measures.
You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, and the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. The full detail of how these rights can be exercised, together with the categories of recipients and any international transfers, is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Cookies and similar technologies are used in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR). Strictly necessary cookies are set to keep the site working and to remember your cookie choices; anything else is set only after you consent through the site-wide banner, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time. Our Cookie Policy lists the cookies used, their purpose and their duration.
Consumer Contracts, Bookings, Pricing and Refund Formalities
As a commercial provider of training services, we comply with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Before you book, we provide clear information about the course content, the total price including VAT where applicable, the date and location, the identity of the trader, our complaints handling process and your cancellation rights. Confirmation of the contract, including a written record of this information, is sent by email after booking and may be stored and reproduced by you.
Where you book as a consumer at a distance and the contract is a distance contract, you normally have a right to cancel within 14 days of the day the contract is concluded, without giving a reason. This right does not apply once a course has been fully performed with your express consent, and it does not apply to bookings for a specific date where the service is scheduled within the cancellation period and you have expressly requested that the service begin. Cancellations after the statutory period, transfers to another date, non-attendance and refunds for organisational bookings are governed by our Payment and Refund Policy, which forms part of the contract.
Prices are quoted in pounds sterling and are inclusive of VAT where stated. We do not impose surcharges for using a particular payment method beyond the cost we incur, and we do not add hidden fees at the end of the checkout process. Business customers who provide a valid VAT registration number may be invoiced under the applicable VAT rules. We handle complaints promptly and fairly; if we cannot resolve a dispute directly, the routes described below are available to you.
Cross-References to Our Other Policies
This legal notice should be read together with the following documents, which are published on this website and form part of the overall terms governing your use of the site and any booking you make:
- Privacy Policy — how personal data is collected, used, stored, shared and protected, and how to exercise your data protection rights.
- Cookie Policy — the cookies and similar technologies used on the site, their purposes, durations and how to manage or withdraw consent.
- Terms and Conditions — the contractual rules for browsing the site, booking a course, attendance, transfers, cancellation by us, participant conduct and liability.
- Payment and Refund Policy — accepted payment methods, invoicing, deposits, due dates, cancellation charges, refund timelines and how refunds are processed.
Where a conflict arises between this page and a signed agreement, order form or the Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions and any individually agreed written terms take precedence, except that nothing overrides the mandatory rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the United Kingdom.
Applicable Law, Competent Courts and Consumer Dispute Rights
This website and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it, its content or any booking made through it are governed by the law of England and Wales. Subject to the consumer protections described below, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live, and you benefit from the mandatory consumer protections of that jurisdiction. Consumers elsewhere in the United Kingdom and, where applicable, in the European Union retain the protection of the mandatory rules of their country of residence. Nothing in this notice deprives you of those rights or restricts your ability to seek advice from a consumer advice service or a solicitor.
Before starting formal proceedings, please raise the matter with us first using the contact route below so that we have the opportunity to investigate and resolve it directly. If we cannot resolve a complaint between us, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider or, where available for your type of dispute, a certified ADR scheme. Alternative dispute resolution is voluntary, and we will tell you clearly whether we are willing to participate in a particular case. Consumers may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform where it remains relevant to their situation.
If any provision of this legal notice is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
